More about HuemanWorks Session - While there has been significant attention on mental health because of the pandemic, Mindfulness Meditation has been used for centuries with its roots in Buddhism. It is being used widely by health and wellness professionals to treat depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, pain, insomnia, eating disorders, relationship problems, and other conditions. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Is an evidence-based mindfulness meditation program. created in 1979 by John Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts. Though originally designed for stress management and chronic illness, it is also being used to help treat a variety of illnesses. Embedded within the context of Mind-Body and Participatory Medicine, the MBSR curriculum focuses on the experiential cultivation of both “formal” and “informal” mindfulness practice as a means of familiarizing oneself with awareness itself. Your Mindfulness Guide, Heather Bloodworth, has years of training in both Mindfulness Meditation and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.
